So I sat down and thought to myself, “What is there to complain about?” That answer didn’t come to me immediately, but then I had realized that Raw this past week was the worst of 2011. That leads me to today’s subject: THE TRIPLE H WALK OUT!
Let me first give you a bit of a back-story on this whole storyline first.
Okay, so it is July 17. It’s the peak of the whole CM Punk/John Cena angle. CM Punk and Cena are in the main event for the WWE title at Money in the Bank. Vince McMahon, not wanting CM Punk to take the WWE title and go to another company, comes running to the ring trying to pull off a Chicago screwjob. Cena gets out of the ring, stops McMahon and Laurinaitis, rolls back in and gets hit by the GTS for the three count.
The next night on Raw, Vince makes a tournament for the new WWE Championship. It comes down to Mysterio and The Miz in the finals. However, Vince interrupts it. This leads to Triple H coming out and basically saying that Vince is fired and the Board of Directors have made HHH the new COO of WWE.
This all leads to Kevin Nash coming in and screwing with CM Punk. That is showing that Triple H doesn’t have control of his company. Then, they finally resolve the Nash problem and all of a sudden The Miz and R-Truth start going on minor rampages.
Truth and Miz beat up one or two referees, which is enough for Triple H to fire them. Then, they for some reason keep coming back at House Shows to invade them. This scares the entire roster. More on that later.
So now it’s the main event of Hell in a Cell. CM Punk vs Alberto Del Rio vs John Cena in the cage that hasn’t been scary since 2004. Del Rio locks Cena out of the cage and pins CM Punk by dubious means. The cage is then raised, and Cena comes in pissed off. Truth & Miz come running in and destroy the three of them. They are then arrested and Triple H flips.
So following that, they end a Raw with a vote of confidence for Triple H being COO. They all say they have no confidence and walk out. They quit until the next week when Triple H is fired and replaced by John Laurinaitis.
Sorry for the horrible description, I was trying not to use up too many words, because this following rant will need them.
First of all, why in the hell did the Board of Directors choose to fire Vince McMahon? He let the WWE Championship leave with CM Punk, but obviously he had a replacement belt and that is what was on the line that night. If you look at history, Vince McMahon has done way worse and way crazier in the past. Where was the Board of Directors then?
Also, what the hell was the point of Nash? What was his purpose in all of this? Hell, I’d forgotten he was even involved in this thing until I had to explain what had happened. He was only used like three times, and delivered crappy promos in every single appearance.
Now for the worst part. If you have been watching WWE, you know that this angle started off superbly in July. However, now it has been relegated to a boring power struggle. And the reason for the power struggle is two guys. TWO.
The Miz and R-Truth caused MINOR chaos. They caused way less chaos than Nexus did just one year ago. You know, when the roster members weren’t a bunch of pansies and fought back. But this sent the entire roster (barring CM Punk, Randy Orton, Triple H, John Cena, and Sheamus) into a panic and they all decided to quit.
Okay, so 55 wrestlers are scared of two wrestlers who aren’t even that scary? Why did everyone walk out on Triple H? Do these wrestlers not remember the Nexus angle? If anything, Triple H was a better COO than Vince.
Let’s review some of these plotholes:
1. CM Punk was making fun of Triple H since he got the job, and he said he’d be just as bad as Vince McMahon, yet stuck around for HHH when everyone else walked out.
2. The entire roster quit over two wrestlers who caused minimal chaos.
3. Nothing even happened to the divas, yet they for some reason decided they didn’t want to work under HHH.
4. Jerry Lawler got beat up by Mark Henry, yet both Mark Henry and Jerry Lawler quit.
5. John Laurinaitis takes over, and they are all quick to jump back into the company knowing full-well he’s a complete idiot.
6. The referees decided to work even after John Laurinaitis reinstated Awesome Truth, even though Awesome Truth was the entire reason behind the referees quitting.
7. They needed a replacement to take over on Raw, but they chose Laurinaitis over the Anonymous Raw GM who has been there for ages.
8. John Laurinaitis fired Jim Ross because he walked out on Triple H. This is self explanatory.
9. The cameramen walked out on HHH, but somehow the next week they had perfect camera angles. Did Hunter hire a totally new crew over the week?
10. WWE owns Raw and Smackdown. COO runs WWE. The wrestlers quit Raw, but not Smackdown, even though Triple H runs both? This is evidenced by the fact that Trips gave Zack Ryder a position of power on Smackdown just a few weeks ago.
11. Stephanie McMahon appeared in like two segments a few months ago. She has not been seen since.
12. Vince McMahon is not in a position of power anymore, yet he came out to give HHH the news of his firing.
13. Why did Kevin Nash text himself?
All I can say about this entire angle: Russo, is that you?!
